To format text in a news article, you will be using Markdown Text. This way of formatting text can easily be used with their online user guide at: http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/basics

From the Site Administration page, scroll down to News and select the Change button next to News Items.

Select a news item to change.

Using Markdown, make the necessary changes in the Text box of the News Item. You will also have to make the changes to the Lead In if they apply.

At any point in the process you may click View on Site to see what the page will look like and to make sure you have formatted the text correctly.
