How to Convert a Video File For Upload Into Web Cube
To ensure your video will work when uploaded to Web Cube, follow these steps to encode it to the proper format before uploading.
Before you start, you will need to have a video encoder software installed. There are many options when it comes to video encoding software. We will be using HandBrake for these instructions (it's free, and have been proven to give consistent results).
To download it, visit HandBrake's website and go to the downloads page. Then select the option best suitable to you. Once the download is complete, follow the instructions to install it.
After the installation process is complete, open HandBrake. If a file browsing dialog does not show up, click on Source.
Locate the video file you want to convert and select it. Then click Open
Once a file is loaded, you will be able to change the encoding settings. Click the Toggle Presets button if the presets sidebar isn't visible. Then select the Normal profile under the Regular section.
In order to allow our video to be played as it is being loaded, we'll need to tweak the settings a bit. Check the Web optimized option.
You are now ready to encode your video file. Just make sure to note where the resulting file is being saved. If you don't like the default location, select a different one.
Click the Start button to start encoding.
HandBrake will start encoding your file. When done, your file will be ready to be uploaded to Web Cube.
